SOBB Stories

Stories from the ever changing daily life at Seven Oaks Bed and Breakfast (SOBB)

A New View

So, in case you were wondering what's going on...let me explain. There are 2+ projects happening in the barn, and in the shop, I'm creating a tear-drop camper for our next vacation, sometime this fall.  Linda is painting up a storm and just you wait to see her next fabric art piece.  Truly amazing!  The picture in this post is a hint about one of the barn projects.

We had so much snow this year that the snow melt fills the tributaries and the Columbia like I've never seen. The Hood River sand bar is entirely submerged!  If you ever get a chance to walk out to the end of it, you'll be near the middle of the mighty Columbia River, right next to the kiteboarders and windsurfers.

Take care fellow travelers.

Waking up from Winter

I figure that, finally, after the Solstice, we *may* not get any more snow.  Therefore, it's time to start thinking about outside activities.  For any of you that may have visited us and toured the barn and shop, you will now find more projects than ever before, and some are actually nearing completion!  Please by all means call and ask about them, or even better, come stay with us again and ask - so Joe, what's happening in the shop? :)

Winter has arrived!

Normally, our guests can relax in the porch swing with morning coffee while we prepare breakfast.  You still can even in the winter.  This year, it is colder than usual and as you can see, rather snowy.  The conditions are just about perfect for all your winter wonderland ventures.

Fall is settling in...

Some Images taken around the property as fall has made its way into life yet again. Lending to a break from the pace of summer for us and our bees as we take stock for the new year and spend more time cozied up indoors.
